Langou part of new NSF funding for work on linear algebra software

Julien Langou, associate professor of mathematical and statistical science, recently received a new National Science Foundation (NSF) award for "SI2-SSI: Collaborative Research: Sustained Innovation for Linear Algebra Software (SILAS)."
The award is for $300,000, and the project will run from approximately now through September 2016.
This is a collaborative grant with University of California Berkeley Principle Investigator (PI) Jim Demmel and University of Tennessee PI Jack Dongarra. In Colorado Langou will serves as PI and Rodney James (now at Colorado College) is co PI.
