The University of Colorado Denver and the Anschutz Medical Campus support Mobile Messaging. We support the connectivity of most Smartphones that can connect via Microsoft ActiveSync. In the near future, we will require all Smartphones to be provisioned by Microsoft ActiveSync (commonly referred to as a provisionable device). The device must allow the local data on the phone to be encrypted, allow for complex passwords, allow remote wiping, and allow remote password resets.
Exchange ActiveSync can synchronize e-mail messages, calendar items, contacts, and tasks. You cannot use Exchange ActiveSync to synchronize notes.
The ability to use ActiveSync depends on the mobile device operating system that you are using. Not all mobile device operating systems support synchronization with Exchange Server 2007. For more information about which operating systems support ActiveSync, contact the manufacturer of your mobile device.
