Denver Campus

A prime location for limitless opportunity

The Denver Campus

The city is the classroom for students, professors and researchers on the Denver Campus. The vibrant, urban location of our university provides you with all kinds of exciting programs and opportunities right in your own campus neighborhood. Just steps away are hundreds of local businesses—with internships, jobs and careers!

Convenient on-campus housing is available, and access to public transportation makes off-campus living a snap. Because CU Denver is just a block away from Denver’s downtown business, shopping and entertainment district, there are unlimited options for study, work and play.

Location in downtown Denver

Our location means you have convenient access to businesses, non-profit organizations and government offices, yielding relevant, hands-on learning experiences through internships and class projects.

  • Need to develop a realistic research plan for your marketing class?
Connect with one of the businesses downtown.
  • Want to witness first-hand how the legislature works?
Visit the nearby Colorado State Capitol Building.
  • Looking to fine-tune your student teaching skills for underserved populations?
Explore our wide-ranging partnerships with Denver and Aurora Public Schools.

Diverse student population

Because we are downtown and serve a non-traditional student population, you’ll find tremendous diversity in your fellow students.

  • More than one-third of undergraduates are first-generation students.
  • Students of color make up nearly one-third of undergraduates.
  • International students come here from throughout the world.

We offer various, specialized services to ensure that all students thrive here, such as:

Low student-faculty ratio

You are not a number. Our undergraduates receive the kind of personal attention found at most private universities. With a campus student-faculty ratio of 15:1 and average class size of 27, our professors know their students—and our students know they have the support they need.

Challenging academic and research programs

Academic challenge is what many of our students crave, and they find it in many places, including the University Honors and Leadership program. Our students also have the opportunity to conduct and receive funding for innovative research projects. The University Research Opportunity Program provides graduate and undergraduate students with research, creative and entrepreneurial activities.

Student housing adjacent to campus

What a great neighborhood to live in! Campus Village—a complex of apartment-style suites adjacent to campus—is close to Denver’s extensive sports, arts, shopping and entertainment options.
