Jeffrey D. Parker began his career with the University of Colorado in 1999 as controller for the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In 2002, he was promoted to assistant vice chancellor for finance and controller, and in 2005, after the consolidation of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with the University of Colorado at Denver, to associate vice chancellor of finance and administration.
Since October 2009, he has served as the university's chief financial officer. Additionally, the vice chancellor for administration and finance oversees university functions including budget and operations, facilities, finance, student financial services, human resources, information technology services, and university police; and, serves as the financial representative on various boards and committees. He oversees an annual budget of more than $1 billion and plays an integral role in the ongoing development of the university’s many programs and initiatives.
Prior to his career at the university, Parker served with the Colorado State Controller’s Office and six years with the Colorado State Auditor’s Office, having a public higher education focus at both organizations.
Parker holds a bachelors in Public Accounting and a masters in Finance. Certifications include a CPA (active) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (inactive).
