Kevin Jacobs currently serves the University of Colorado Denver ǀ Anschutz Medical Campus as Chief Human Resources Officer/Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. He served in this role as Assistant Vice Chancellor from 2007 to 2016. Kevin’s responsibilities as the Chief Human Resources Officer include providing consultation and advice to executive leadership, developing organizational strategies, conducting systemic analyses and planning, serving as the institutional HR liaison to the University of Colorado System and the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration, and leading HR functions which serve over 9,000 faculty and staff members. His career in human resources began in 1987 at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he had earned a BA in Sociology. He has also worked as an Occupational and Compensation Specialist for the Colorado Department of Personnel, Director of Human Resources at the Colorado Department of Education, Director of Human Resources for the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Director of Human Resources for the Anschutz Medical Campus and Director of Human Resources for the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus.
Kevin received his MPA from the CU Denver School of Public Affairs. He occasionally teaches in the School’s MPA program and enjoys writing and presenting on human resources and public policy topics. A fifth generation Coloradan, Kevin has been an active community volunteer for many years. He served two four-year terms as a Councilmember in the City and County of Broomfield. He enjoys skiing, triathlon, camping, motorcycling and other outdoor activities with family and friends.
