Kevin Jacobs serves the University of Colorado Denver Campus and Anschutz Medical Campus as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. Kevin’s responsibilities as the chief human resources officer include providing consultation and advice to executive leadership, developing organizational strategies, conducting systemic analyses and planning, serving as the institutional liaison to the University of Colorado System and the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration, and leading HR functions which serve over 8,000 faculty and staff members. His career in human resources began in 1987 at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he had earned a BA in Sociology. He has also worked as an Occupational and Compensation Specialist for the Colorado Department of Personnel, Director of Human Resources at the Colorado Department of Education and Director of Personnel for the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy.
Kevin received his MPA from the UC Denver School of Public Affairs. He also teaches in the School’s MPA program and enjoys writing and presenting on human resources and public policy topics. A fifth generation Coloradan, Kevin has been an active community volunteer for many years. In 2011, he was elected to a second four-year term as a Councilmember representing the City and County of Broomfield’s ward three. He enjoys skiing, triathlon, camping, motorcycling and other outdoor activities with family and friends.
