CU Denver | Anschutz Wi-Fi

Guest and Authenticated users supported


Notice:

UCDenver Wireless users -- the secured wireless name UCDenver will be changed to CU Denver between 6:30am and 7:00am Wednesday, December 16th for all users at CU Denver and CU South Denver. For users at CU Anschutz Medical Campus the name will be changed to CU Anschutz between 6:30am and 7:00am on Monday, December 21st.
 
 
 


Accessing Wi-Fi 
 
Wirelss access is available at both campuses as well as CU South Denver and most CU Anschutz off-site clinics. See below for conection instructions to ur Guest and Secured networks.
 
 
 
Guest Wireless Users (CUDenver Guest or CU Anschutz Guest wireless networks) at all locations will need to perform the following steps on each computing device to gain access.
 
  1. Select the CU Denver Guest or CU Anschutz Guest network on your device
  2. Click the Accept buttom on the ucdenver-wirelss.ucdenver.edu screen
 

 

 
Authenticated Secured Wireless Users (CUDenver or CUAnschutz wireless networks) at all locations will need to perform the following steps on each computing device to gain access.
 
  1. Connect to the wireless network as a new user to the secure network for the location
  2. Accept the certificate, if asked
  3. Provide CU Denver | Anschutz credentials (UCDAccess login information)

Malicious login mitigation requirements

 

Authenticated users must maintain anti-virus (AV) software on their mobile computing device as a requirement for continued wireless service. You are also required to maintain operating system (Windows/OS) and application (Office, Word, Excel, etc.) patches on your mobile computer. For Windows patches, see http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. For Office suite patches, visit http://office.microsoft.com/OfficeUpdate/default.aspx. You must also obtain patches from your other software vendors, as needed.

 

Guests must maintain their own anti-virus software and patches. We may scan guest computers prior to admittance. Mobile computers without current anti-virus software and patches may be denied access to campus resources.

 


CU Anschutz Students can receive walkup tech support at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus Health Sciences Library. Contact for hours and information 303-724-2129.

 

CU Denver Students visit a CU Denver Student Lab located in North Classroom, Tivoli or Student Commons.

 

 

 

Types of users:

 

We support two types of users on campus: guests and authenticated.

 

Guests are only authorized Internet access. However, they may access the university's resources if they are authorized to use VPN. Guest users may have a rate-limited pipe to the Internet to prevent them from over-consuming our Internet resources.

 

Authenticated users using VPN are university faculty, staff, sponsored users and students. Additionally, authenticated users must enter their University domain user-id and password prior to gaining wireless VPN access. (Go to https://itservices-web.ucdenver.edu/VPN/) Authenticated users have access to internal resources and the Internet. For more information call the helpdesk 303-724-4357 (4HELP).

 

Authenticated users using WPA-2 this is a non VPN way of accessing university resources.
