Remote Access empowering the Mobile Workforce
The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus OIT department is now offering a newly revamped remote computing service to Faculty and Staff at the University. This service will provide hosted desktop and application computing systems for paid subscribers at the University. We can deliver desktops and applications through a single platform to Physical, Virtual and BYOD (bring your own device) systems allowing for a rich, adaptive user experience.
There are many advantages to using a remote computing system. The Office of Information Technology provides central management of the systems, resulting in much less administrative overhead for departments on campus. Our systems have most of the same capabilities as physical desktops systems, are faster than using a VPN connection from home and perform on par with a typical physical desktop system. If you use one of our suggested zero client devices as a replacement for a desktop or laptop, you can see a significant power savings of over 90%. This system can be used to easily and securly access CU Denver computing resources from anywhere in the world by going to https://remote.ucdenver.edu. Complimentary access is available with university credentials. However, a persistent environment that allows customization and saving of your files and preferences is available for $15 a month per user/device.
