If documentation is not received by the last day of the semester, student will be responsible for the difference between the resident and nonresident tuition rates.
Student must meet requirements for C.R.S. 23-7.4-203 or C.R.S. 23-7.4-204:
Requirements for:
- C.R.S. 23-7.4-203. Tuition classification of armed forces veterans:
- The military member was honorably discharged.
- The military member meets the presumptions and rules for domicile.
Required Documents:
- Military Sponsor’s DD214 showing “honorable” discharge
- Documentation of Sponsor domicile
- Tie to Military Sponsor (ex: Dependent ID)
- One unexpired tie to Colorado
2. C.R.S. 23-7.4-204. Tuition classification for veterans pursuant to federal law:
- The military member was honorably discharged.
- Student must be using transferred benefits.
Required Documents:
- Military Sponsor’s DD214 showing “honorable” discharge
- Tie to Military Sponsor (ex: Dependent ID)
- One unexpired tie to Colorado
Acceptable ties to Colorado:
- Colorado Driver’s License/State ID
- Colorado Vehicle Registration
- Colorado Voter’s Registration
- Colorado House Deed
- Computer Generated Bill (utility, credit card, doctor, hospital, etc.)
- Bank Statement
- Pre-printed Pay Stub
- First-Class Mail (government agency or court)
- Current Homeowner’s, Renter’s, or Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy
- Mortgage, Lease, or Rental Contract
- Motor Vehicle Registration
- USPS Change of Address Form (CNL107) W-2, SSA-1099, Non-SSA-1099

Important: If you are not eligible under the Federal or State Law, you will need to petition for residency through CU Denver and CU Anschutz regular processes. For more information, visit CU Denver Residency or CU Anschutz Residency. CU Denver and CU Anschutz Residency Petitions must be submitted by the Monday prior to the start of the semester.
