The MS is designed for applicants with a prior degree in engineering, so it has a longer list of prerequisite courses designed to prepare graduates for engineering license exams. The MEng is designed for applicants with a prior degree in a non-engineering field, so it has a shorter list of prerequisites designed to make the program more broadly accessible. Both require 30 graduate credit hours and use the same graduate course planning worksheet.

No, we require an earned master’s for doctoral admission. However, you should apply to the doctoral program before finishing your master’s so you can start immediately after your master’s is conferred.
