Student Success Transformation Initiative

Overview

CU Denver worked during the 2024-25 academic year with the National Institute for Student Success (NISS) to consider new strategies to strengthen our comprehensive approach to student well-being, academic success, and career readiness. NISS provided a comprehensive assessment with recommendations for maximizing efficiencies and excellence in CU Denver’s student support frameworks.

Our commitment to being an equity-serving institution is reflected in our goal of continually improving learner support systems and eliminating student success gaps. We aim to build upon our strengths and NISS recommendations to provide proactive, coordinated, and scalable support in critical areas of first-year experience, advising, data use, and student communications.

To that end,  Chancellor Ken Christensen and Interim Provost Pam Jansma introduced the launch of CU Denver's Student Success Transformation initiative with a May 22 Town Hall. The initiative continues with four working groups to meet through summer and fall 2025, with further progress and outcomes to be determined and followed through thereafter.

Working Groups
