Zoom Meetings & Guidance for ICB Students Coming to Denver
“ICB students in Beijing are reaching out to me as they’re planning to come to Denver next semester,” explained Jingxuan “Jasmine” Mo, International Services Specialist, International Student & Scholar Services, Office of International Affairs. Mo provides students with a thorough checklist detailing all of the documents needed to apply for an I-20. She also gives the students practical guidance about how to navigate within the current visa environment.
“In addition to emails, I schedule Zoom meetings with the students in China, so we can discuss things directly,” she said. “This seems to work well; it give students a chance to ask any questions, find the right information, and prepare in advance.”
For ICB students on the CU Denver campus, Mo collaborates closely with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences academic advisors to help students with course options and to find employment through the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) program. An international student may be eligible for CPT after they have studied at the CU Denver campus for two semesters.
“I enjoy communicating with the ICB students in both Beijing and Denver,” said Mo. “I look forward to welcoming these Beijing students and their friends to Denver for the Spring 2022 semester!”
