You’ve always heard that your student GPA (grade point average) matters. Now, it can automatically qualify you for a scholarship of up to 10,000 per year when you enroll in an undergraduate degree program at the University of Colorado Denver. Adding to this good news, your scholarship can be renewable; four years for international first-year students or two years for transfer international students. It’s an easy process – you don’t even need to apply for the scholarship, it happens automatically.
If anyone knows about the value of persistence and determination, it’s Odalis Castro. On top of completing her final year at CU Denver, she spent countless hours applying for a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Research Award, one of the most prestigious academic exchange programs that provide grants for students to study research in another country. Her hard work paid off: She will spend the 2021-22 academic year conducting skin cancer research in Kraków, Poland.

Faculty and the team in Global Education: Study Abroad, Office of International Affairs, actively partnered together to create new opportunities for students amidst the challenges. The result is an exciting way for students to achieve a unique study abroad experience — through a virtual study abroad program.
“In 2020, I thought my college plans were sustainable – but then the global pandemic ruined everything,” said Vy Nguyen Tuong Vo. An outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA at the University of Colorado Denver, Vo had to quickly leave Denver and return home, as did many other international and American students.
