Professional Level Job Summary: Assistant Directors have responsibility for projects, functions or processes within a department. These positions may recommend strategy and provide professional support to Directors and may have the authority to act on the Director's behalf. Assistant Directors typically supervise other staff but do not generally control the allocation of fiscal or human resources.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Four (4) years of related professional experience in System Administration,
Network Configuration, Software Installation, Troubleshooting, Customer Service, Technical Support.
Optional Substitution: Related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: A master's or terminal degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Five (5) years of related professional experience in System Administration,
Network Configuration, Software Installation, Troubleshooting, Customer Service, Technical Support.
Related professional experience as director, department supervisor, work leader, or staff authority
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience with any or all of the following Coding languages: (Python, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, SQL, C++, Ruby, .NET)
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion with a committment to developing equitable practices.
Ability to perform duties independently without guidance and direction from other professionals.
Ability to articulate the University's mission and the importance of the strategic plan.
Supervision Exercised: No cap on supervision exercised. Should not supervise a higher professional level position.
