Program Manager

Career Family: External Relations Professional Level: External Relations Program Manager
Career Family Job Summary: Jobs in this career family involve building relationships with external parties for the purposes of information sharing and facilitation of strategic partnerships. Functions include government relations, alumni relations, commercial business relations, non-profit relations, and event planning/management.
Professional Level Job Summary: Program Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, function or work unit, including the development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes. These positions typically do not supervise others.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, advertising, graphic design, visual arts, or a related field. Three (3) years of related professional experience in potography, social media management, content creation, visual and mixed- mida arts, editing, or other related professional experience. Optional Substitution: Related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's or terminal degree in communications, marketing, advertising, graphic design, visual arts, or a related field. Four (4) years of related professional experience in potography, social media management, content creation, visual and mixed- mida arts, editing, or other related professional experience. Related professional experience as manager, supervisor, work leader, staff authority or project/program administrator
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to effectively, professionally, and persuasively represent CU through presentations, verbal communication, and written communications Exceptional understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion with a committment to developing equitable practices Ability to deal effectively with multiple categories of stakeholders, including students, alumni, employers, community leaders, faculty and support staff Ability to manage multiple projects and taks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Ability to train at supervise employees that include student employees, volunteers, etc.
Supervision Exercised: Can supervise students. No cap on # of students. May supervise no more than (1) 1.0 FTE. If the position has supervision exceeding (1) 1.0 FTE the department should be able to provide a clear justification as to why the org. structure cannot support a higher level position
