Professional Level Job Summary: Vice Chancellors are senior officers for a campus, supporting the chancellor in the performance of academic, administrative, or financial duties and responsibilities. Positions report to the chancellor, provost or executive vice chancellor and oversee a functional division of a campus, typically serving as its chief academic, administrative, student affairs, financial or diversity officer. Minimum Qualifications:
  • A master's or terminal degree may sometimes be required based on the position
  • 10 years in a large scale environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience in higher education or state government.
  • Experience with strategic planning implementation for a public urban research university, public-private partnerships and leading complex negotiations in politically-charged environments is highly preferred. Strong, demonstrated commitment and accomplishment in demonstrating access and engagement.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Thought leadership focused on implementing CU Denver’s Strategic Plan and its resulting strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic university environment with CU System-driven initiatives, multiple campus strategic initiatives and complex affiliate relationship including those on the Auraria Campus.
  • Evidence of collaborative efforts in supporting the institution to meet strategic goals.
  • Ability to effectively recruit, retain, manage and supervise human resources involved in a variety of management and service functions.
  • A commitment to professional and organizational development and related strategies for success.
  • Ability to manage budgets and finances for multiple auxiliary and general funded areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
