Associate Director

Career Family: Development Professional Level: Associate Director Development
Career Family Job Summary: Jobs in this career family cultivate external donors, develop and maintain business partnerships and relationships, and solicit gifts to the University. Functions include corporate and foundation relations, annual gift giving, capital campaigns, trust and bequests, solicitation research, program development, and events planning or alumni relations when the primary focus is for development purposes.
Professional Level Job Summary: Associate Directors are responsible for working closely with the Director to manage a department or specific areas of a department. These positions recommend strategy, have responsibility for fiscal and/or human resources and have the authority to act on the Director's behalf.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing or other related field, from an accredited institution Five (5) years of experience in fundraising, alumni/donor relations, or other nonprofit role or equivalent experience in for-profit marketing or project management or directly related field. Optional Substitution: Related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's or terminal degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing or other related field, from an accredited institution Six (6) years of experience in fundraising, alumni/donor relations, or other nonprofit role OR equivalent experience in for-profit marketing or project management or directly related field Related professional experience as director, department supervisor, work leader, or staff authority

Supervision Exercised: No cap on supervision exercised. Should not supervise a higher professional level position.
