Strengthening Faculty Shared Governance:
CU Denver's Colleges, Schools and Library
CU Denver has undertaken a multi-year effort to strengthen faculty shared governance across its colleges, schools, and the Auraria Library. A State of Faculty Shared Governance Report was issued in Spring 2025, followed by Recommendations to Strengthen Faculty Shared Governance in Spring 2026. This progress update highlights actions taken to implement those recommendation and further enhance shared governance practices across the university.
This work reflects a shared commitment among faculty, academic leaders, and the administration to foster meaningful faculty engagement, ensure compliance with Regent laws and policies, and support governance structures that meet the unique needs of each academic unit.
CU Denver remains committed to continuous assessment and improvement, including a faculty shared governance survey planned for Spring 2027.
