Antonio Farias, MFA
Vice Chancellor for People and Culture

Antonio Farias serves as the Vice Chancellor for People and Culture responsible for driving and developing initiatives that build and advance CU Denver’s commitment to servingness and making education work for all. Antonio has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Riverside. He worships his daughter, re-energizes through a plant-based diet, and believes failure is the greatest teacher. When not at work you can find him running mountain trails, fly fishing, writing YA novels, and carving through canyon roads on his motorcycle.
Rachel Brown, M.Arch
Special Assistant and Project Manager for People and Culture

Rachel Brown is a graduate of CU Denver’s College of Architecture & Planning, where she earned her M.Arch and has contributed in several roles at CU Denver, including Director of Professional Development & Internships and Project Manager for the CU Denver Strategic Plan. She currently serves as a Special Assistant & Project Manager, applying a strategic mindset to move projects forward and bring clarity to complex work. Rachel has also taught intermittently for over a decade in both graduate and undergraduate programs, where she has developed a strong respect and admiration for CU Denver students who are deeply committed to their education while balancing full, often complex lives. A spatial thinker, she often uses diagrams to clarify ideas and workflows. Outside of work, she enjoys long hikes in the mountains, airline flights to new places and a good knitting project!
Kerri Clarke, BA
Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for People and Culture

Kerri Clarke serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for People and Culture. Prior to her role in the Office for PAC, she was the Operations Coordinator for the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education, including Stevens Institute of Technology and Seton Hall University, specializing in student support services and event management. She grew up in Cleveland Ohio and attended Seton Hall University for her undergraduate degree. She loves to travel and is happiest at the ocean. She spends her free time doing house renovation projects with her husband Johan and dog Max.
Terrance (Terry) Hughes, PhD
Principal Evaluator for Grants and Programs for People and Culture

CU Denver is an ideal place to work for Terry because of the opportunities it offers to pioneer new approaches to preparing students for a world that is changing at a breakneck speed. Terry has 12 years experience with CU Denver, in addition to serving at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State University. He earned a Ph.D. in Extension, Continuing and Adult Education at Cornell University, a Master’s in Adult and Continuing Education at Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor’s with a History Concentration though the New York State Regent’s Degree program. Prior to his career in higher education he served as a brakeman on two railroads, now he is eager to introduce his 18-month-old grandson to the joys of train watching.
