ALL International Students are required to complete an online orientation through ISSS 

Students can sign up for the online orientation at the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) Website. A hold is placed on a student’s account if the online orientation is not completed. International students are not required to complete an in-person orientation through New Student Orientation.

 

UNDERGRADUATE Students:

Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend CU Prep Week. These events welcome and help prepare students for starting at CU Denver.

Tuesday, August 13th | First Generation Student & Family Banquet

5:00pm—7:30pm | Tivoli Turnhalle

 

Enjoy a dinner that recognizes students who will be the first in their family to earn a four-year degree. At the dinner new students meet other first generation students, hear from inspirational first generation speakers and will be honored for being the first in their family to attend college.

If you’re signed up to live at CU Denver Housing & Dining at Campus Village, this is your day to move in and get settled on campus.

Thursday, August 15th | Connect2Campus

10:00am—3:00pm | Student Commons Building

 

Connect2Campus is a conference-style series of workshops where new students get a free lunch, have fun with other students, learn more about starting at CU Denver and get a personalized tour of where their classes are located.

Thursday, August 15th | Discover Wellness

3:00pm—5:00pm | Lola & Rob Salazar Student Wellness Center

 

Discover Wellness is at our new Lola & Rob Student Wellness Center. During this program, new students could try a demo fitness class, experience the climbing wall, try out the pool or learn about the Wellness Suite.

Thursday, August 15th | Transfer Student BBQ

4:30pm-6:30pm | CU Denver Field

 

Transfer students are invited to attend this BBQ where you can eat some delicious food, connect with other transfer students and have some fun!

Friday, August 16th | New Student Convocation

2:20pm—6:30pm | Check-in @ Tivoli Commons

 

Convocation is the official welcome into the CU Denver family and all new students are expected to attend. The afternoon starts with receptions hosted by the schools and colleges, where students can meet their peers, as well as staff and faculty. The academic gown students are given to wear in the convocation ceremony demonstrates their commitment to obtaining their degree and ultimately wearing the full regalia at your future graduation. After the ceremony, everyone enjoys a big party with fun, games, giveaways and free Jim ‘N Nick’s BBQ on the Athletic Field.

Saturday, August 17th | Lynx Hike with Peer Educators

Enjoy a fun hike in Boulder with fellow students!

GRADUATE Orientation requirements for International Students:
Along with the required online orientation for all international students, Graduate students often have orientation requirements within their individual programs and should receive information directly from their schools/colleges. Click on this link to view the academic advising information.
