Staff Council

Deserae Frisk, MPA

School of Education and Human Development

Deserae has worked for the University of Colorado Denver for since 2007 in various roles for the School of Education and Human Development.  Currently she is the program manager for the Continuing and Professional Education unit within SEHD.  In this role, she manages about 30 current programs and works on building new partnerships with school districts, helping faculty develop new programs, and supporting students in their completion of the programs.

Outside of work, Deserae recently completed her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and is looking forward to continuing research and development on how to address K-12 school safety by disrupting systems of power.  She enjoys spending time in the mountains, playing sports, playing tug-of-war with her dog, and traveling.

Deserae joined staff council in the hopes of being a voice of advocacy for staff.  She has also assumed the role of Chair for University of Colorado Staff Council (UCSC) in the same hopes that she can help advocate for staff across the CU system to make CU a place where staff truly feel appreciated and collaboration is encouraged. She hopes this will help CU recruit and retain the best employees possible.
