Nondegree Student Admissions
Do you want to explore the University of Colorado Denver before applying for formal admission? Would you like to complete a course for professional development or to transfer to another institution? If so, nondegree admission may be right for you.

Denver Campus

Most classes listed in the Denver Campus Schedule of Courses are available to qualified students on a nondegree basis.  There are gpa, age and enrollment restrictions and significant financial and academic implications on nondegree admission.  Please read Important Information for Nondegree Students to see if nondegree admission is right for you.  TO APPLY FOR NONDEGREE ADMISSION, CLICK THE APPLY TAB ABOVE TO GET STARTED.

You may also apply as a degree seeking student to take Denver Campus courses, even if you do not intend to complete a CU Denver degree.  Go to www.ucdenver.edu/admissions. 

If you wish to enroll in courses identified as Denver Campus Division of Continuing and Professional Education (Extended Studies), do not apply for nondegree admission.  Go to www.ucdenver.edu/registrar​ and click Continuing and Professional Education under the Registration tab.

 

Anschutz Medical Campus

Traditional campus courses are available only to fully admitted degree seeking students.  Courses in areas outlined below are available on a nondegree basis.  For Anschutz Medical Campus course enrollment, follow instructions below.  Do not apply for Denver Campus nondegree admission.

College of Nursing

Through the Professional Development Program in the College of Nursing, certain courses are available to qualified students on a nondegree basis.  For more information and to request enrollment in the College of Nursing Professional Development Program, please visit the Office of Lifelong Learning website or call (303) 724-1372

Graduate School - School Public Health

Through the Anschutz Medical Campus Graduate School and School of Public Health, certain courses are available to qualified students on a nondegree basis. Please click here to download information, instructions, and the application for admission. If You have questions about this program, please call (303) 724-8059, or email student.services@ucdenver.edu.

 

Click the "Get Ready" tab above for information about enrolling in courses through the Anschutz Medical Campus Graduate School, School of Public Health, College of Nursing or Denver Campus Division of Continuing and Professional Education (Extended Studies).  Do not apply for Denver Campus nondegree admission.

To take Denver Campus courses listed in the Schedule of Courses, you must be accepted for admission as a nondegree or degree seeking student.  If applying for financial aid or student loans, you must apply as a degree seeking student, even if not working toward a CU Denver degree.  Visit www.ucdenver.edu/admissions.

Apply for nondegree admission

1. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE: If you have read Important Information for Nondegree Students and are sure nondegree admission is right for you, you are encouraged to apply online. When prompted, select "undergraduate" for the career, and then scroll down in the alphabetical list of fields of study to "nondegree undergraduate."

Access the online application* here. Or, you can download a paper copy of the nondegree application and fax it to 303-315-2610 or mail it to the Office of Admissions at the address below. Application fee payment options are outlined below.

2. IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE: You are classified and billed as a graduate nondegree student, even if taking undergraduate courses. For financial and other implications of nondegree admission and to learn about enrolling in Business School courses, read Important Information for Nondegree Students

Pay the application fee

A $50.00 application fee is required (unless waived, see below) and can be paid with a credit card, e-check or by check or money order when applying on-line. If applying with a paper application, payment by check or money order may be sent to the address below.  Please write your name (if not already printed) and date of birth on the front and mail payment to:

Note: The application fee is waived ONLY for degree seeking students at other campuses of the University of Colorado attending the Denver Campus for summer term. If applying online, indicate "payment by check" and we will remove the fee requirement when your application is processed

Application status notification

After receiving the application and fee, processing takes up to ten working days. You will be notified of your admission status via U.S. mail, or you can check your status in the MYUCDenver prospective student portal.  If you applied online, go to www.ucdenver.edu/myucdenver​ and access the portal using the same username and password you used to apply for admission.  If you applied using a paper application, you can create an account by clicking the Need Help? button at the top right corner of the screen, then clicking the Please Register link.  In the portal, click the Apply tab and then click the Check Status link at the top of the page on the left.  You may also check your status by calling 303-315-2601.

Enrollment Information

For Spring 2014
Enrollment details can be found in our Your Next Step brochure which is mailed to admitted students prior to the start of each semester.
 
Portal Activation
Prior to the start of the registration period which begins in early fall, you will be prompted to activate a new portal account called UCDAccess where you can find your registration appointment time, search for courses, pay the required enrollment deposit, register for classes, learn your university email address and more. You will receive an email when UCDAccess is operational for your term of enrollment.

Registration Information

When you activate your UCDAccess portal, you can search for courses, pay your tuition deposit and register for courses at or after your registration appointment time.  Some restricted courses require a manual process for enrollment approval and registration.
Our Schedule of Courses is available only online. To view course offerings before activating your UCDAccess portal, go to www.ucdenver.edu and click Course Listings under the Academics tab.

Tuition Deposit

A $200 tuition advance deposit is required and can be paid in the UCDAccess portal or Bursar's Office. Click here then how to pay your tuition deposit. ​

​Tuition & Fees

Tab 4 content: Undergraduate non degree tuition is is charged at the undergraduate junior/senior rate. Undergraduate in-state nondegree students are eligible for COF funding. Graduate nondegree students are charged tuition at the Graduate Business School rate and are not eligible for COF funding.
