Assistant Professor Stefanie Johnson teaches human resources, staffing and leadership. She has been at CU Denver since 2006.
“I decided to teach because I like the idea of being a part of the creation of knowledge, not just applying what people learn. I attended small schools where students knew their faculty. To me, that’s an important part of an education. I make it a point to know my students as individuals.
“The diversity in our students adds different perspectives to in-class conversations. Most of our students are working, which makes the context of the course material relevant and applicable.
“Teaching at a university is always changing— new students, new ideas and new personalities. At CU Denver everyone who is here wants an education. They work so hard and have a good handle on what they value. Our students seem to really care about learning.”
