Joshua Bachrach, a marketing major in the Business School, came to CU Denver with a passion, a focus, and the unbounded energy to achieve his goals.
“I’d like to create, open, manage and fundraise for a non-profit organization that helps kids with developmental disabilities,” says Josh. His original interest in this field was kindled at the age of 13, when he first began working as a summer camp counselor for children with disabilities. Josh says he learned a great deal and really got to know the children. Along with the other counselors, this group became an “extended family” for him, and he continued this work through high school.
Josh considered becoming a teacher, but the idea for running a non-profit business took hold. In addition to his classes at CU Denver, he currently works in the Business School and has a part-time job as the coordinator of street teams for Souls in Action. In this role, he manages a group of students that provide guerilla marketing to promote local music concerts and events.
"Coming to school downtown at CU Denver provides more than a degree. I can network professionally, and I like the city life.” One of his favorite courses is in business management, and he’s especially interested in learning more about the business side of entrepreneurship.
