Admissions Resources

Office of Admissions:  Are you preparing for college or ready to apply as a freshman, transfer, nursing or former CU Denver student?

Pre-Collegiate Students:  You have been preparing for college your entire life—whether you realize it or not! Curiosity about the world around you, your family heritage and early experiences—even creative play—have helped you become the student you are today. But as a middle- or high-school aged student, there are concrete ways you can prepare for college or university success.

Freshmen Students:  At CU Denver, prospective freshmen apply to the Denver Campus from throughout Colorado, the United States and many foreign countries. Freshmen are not admitted to programs at the Anschutz Medical Campus. On average, admitted freshmen were in the top 25 percent of their graduating class, had a 3.3 GPA and scored 23 on the ACT or 1060 on the SAT. Freshman admissions is a personalized process that considers many factors—all of which focus on your future academic success

Transfer Students:  Each fall, at least 50 percent of our new undergraduate students transfer from colleges and universities in Colorado, the United States and many foreign countries. Known for high-quality academics and personalized services, CU Denver strives to meet the needs of transfer students before, during and after the admission process.

International Admissions:  The University of Colorado Denver is a fully accredited, highly respected academic and health sciences institution that welcomes international students from 130 countries. Whether you’re interested in urban design, business, engineering, pre-med, pharmacy, or a degree you’ve customized from one of the university’s 130+ undergraduate or graduate degree choices, your educational experience will be supported through outstanding student services.

Nursing Students:  Available only at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, the Bachelor of Science degree program in nursing was founded in 1898 and is the oldest program west of the Mississippi. With award-winning faculty and cutting-edge facilities, the program employs teaching and clinical instruction supplemented by simulation technology. The College of Nursing touts many accomplishments including the birthplace of the Nurse Practitioner Program, the use of innovative multi-disciplinary curriculum, numerous national rankings and real-world nursing experiences through multiple clinical placements.

Non-Degree Students: To apply for nondegree admission, you must be at least 20 years of age and have an overall college gpa of at least 2.0 for fall or spring term. If you are under age 20, you may apply for summer only. Because of significant financial and academic implications of nondegree admission, be sure to read Important Information for Nondegree Students before clicking the Apply tab above to get started with your nondegree application.
