In an effort to support the members of the CU Denver community who have been impacted by the temporary suspension of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), we have launched a coordinated Campus Food Security Action Plan to ensure that all students, staff, and faculty have continued access to food and essential resources during this period.

Milo’s Market is CU Denver’s grocery: a hub for all students, staff, and faculty to access free foods and hygiene items. At Milo’s Market, we believe that every person deserves to live free of food insecurity. Unfortunately, with rising costs of living and school fees, many folks find themselves struggling to care for their basic needs. At Milo’s Market, everyone in CU Denver’s community is welcome. Students are allocated various goods every week from each of our market categories, including hygiene items, canned goods, pasta/breads/legumes, snacks, protein, freezer items, dairy, and locally sourced produce. Whether you want to shop for your dinner ingredients or grab a snack in between classes, all you need is your LynxCard and a reusable bag! Currently, students are allocated the following items in each of our categories: - 2 items from bread, cereal, pasta, rice, or lentils - 3 unrefrigerated fruits and veggies - 2 refrigerated produce items - 1 freezer/protein item - 3 canned items - 7 snack items - 3 easy meal items - 4 hygiene items - 1 spice/condiment item - 1 water and juice - 2 specialty items All CU Denver students, University Staff and Faculty have access to the CU Denver Food Pantry. Students who are non-fee-assessed, and therefore do not have Salazar Student Wellness Center access can expected to be walked up to Milo's Market by a WRS staff member. Questions? Milo’s Market is committed to fostering a community that destigmatizes the need for assistance. We recognize that we all deserve foods that align with our cultures, nutritional needs, and are what we want to eat! We value supporting wellness at the root, providing students with support and promoting their autonomy to be and feel well, at every level. This holistic approach to wellness is central to our mission and vision for Milo’s Market. We also value a mindful connection to the Earth; thus, we partner with Auraria Campus Sustainability program to ensure that food waste is composted and minimized. Our goal is that no member of CU Denver’s community will go hungry! We are committed to extending every effort to see this become a reality.
None of our work would be possible without the local and regional efforts of our partners to eliminate food insecurity!
