The Office of Assessment and the Center for Faculty Development collaborated on a national web-based video project highlighting the many exemplary ways that University of Colorado Denver and the Community College of Denver faculty across a number of disciplines use
assessment rubrics to advance teaching and learning in their classrooms and studios. In addition to the video segments by the six faculty members, the website has a variety of tools including sample rubrics for faculty members to draw on in their own practice and video discussions of a variety of rubric-related topics. This website is intended to provide support for faculty members who would like to use assessment rubrics in their classrooms and programs, while the larger MERLOT ELIXR Initiative, funded by FIPSE (The Fund for Improvement of Postsecondary Education), offers a digital case story repository that hosts more than 70 discipline-specific multimedia stories that provide real-life experiences of exemplary teaching strategies, including UC Denver’s case story focusing on assessment rubrics (http://elixr.merlot.org/assessment-evaluation/assessment-rubrics/assessment-rubrics4).
