Financial Aid Resources for Medical Students

Deedee Colussy is the program manager dedicated to assisting CU Medical students. She specializes in financing medical education expenses, money management skills, loan repayment programs and debt management strategies.

Refund Dates*

You must be in good standing with the School of Medicine to receive your financial aid & refund.

Class of 2024

  • Fall refund: August 10th
  • Spring refund: January 11th

Class of 2023

  • Fall refund: August 10th
  • Spring refund: January 11th

Class of 2022

  • Fall Refund: September 2nd
  • Spring Refund: January 20th

Class of 2021

  • Fall Refund: September 14th
  • Spring refund: January 11th

*You have 45 days from the day that you receive your refund to make any loan reductions. Please contact Deedee for assistance.


Health Profession Loan Repayment Resources

Primary care providers working in designated health professional shortage areas can receive funding to repay qualifying educational loans. Participants must see underserved patients at an approved clinical site for the entire service obligation.

NSLDS Redirect Instructions

The U.S. Dept. of Education consolidated their websites into one website. You can access the text file to upload into the MedLoan Organizer and Calculator (MLOC) using the following instructions:

  1. Go to https://studentaid.gov/.
  2. Log into your account with your FSA ID and password.
  3. “Accept” the account access warning.
  4. Select “View Details”.
  5. Select “Download My Aid Data”.
  6. Select “Continue” to download the text file.
  7. Save the text file to your computer.
  8. You are now ready to upload your text file into MLOC.
