The Meanings and Implications of Crises in Policy Processes

On June 27, 2011 the School of Public Affairs (SPA)  and the Buechner Institute for Governance (BIG) held a workshop featuring presentations on crises and the policy process. The workshop explored how crises -- from floods and earthquakes to terrorism and social unrest -- are interpreted across the globe and how they affect politics and public policy.     Featured participants included: Dr. Tom Birkland, North Carolina State University Dr. Brian Gerber, University of Colorado Denver Dr. Peter May, University of Washington Dr. Daniel Nohrstedt, Swedish National Defence College and currently visting scholar at the University of Colorado Denver Dr. Alka Sapat, Florida Atlantic University Dr. Chris Weible, University of Colorado Denver  ​​
