Evan Shelton is an experienced performer and teacher of all ages and musical styles.
He holds a Cello Performance degree from Colorado State University and a graduate
degree in Suzuki Pedagogy from the Lamont School of music at the University of
Denver. He was a member of the rock band Other Side of Clearview, which allowed him
to branch out of the classical world and learn how to perform and teach rock, pop, and
jazz forms.
As a cellist Evan has performed with the cello section of the Colorado Symphony, the
Indigo Girls, Amos Lee, Deltron 3030, Chuck Profit and Pretty Lights, and has played in
such venues as the First Bank Center, Fiddlers Green, Boettcher Concert Hall, and Red
Rocks Amphitheater.
He is currently a cellist in the Cheza String Quartet, the lecturer of Cello at the
University of Colorado Denver, the cello instructor at the Colorado College in Colorado
Springs and the cello improvisation instructor for Denver Talent Education.
