College of Architecture and Planning University of Colorado Denver

College of Architecture & Planning

The one week intensive will introduce high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates to a series of basic architectural design concepts.  Practicing the necessary skills in drawing and model-making, each concept will be translated into a three-dimensional form.  This process will enable the students to experience the design process from idea to form.

As a student in the pre-college architecture workshop, you will:

  • get a jump start on your college career.
  • develop skills in drawing, model-making, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • explore the concepts and methods that lead to form and space-making.
  • experience the flow and integration of a successful design process.
  • work alongside other designers sharing knowledge and receiving feedback.
  • create a series of works ready to add to your college entrance portfolio.
