Program Overview
Offers more options for specialization than any other part-time or full-time MBA program in Colorado, aligning students' lifestyle and career goals while delivering a solid business foundation applicable to every industry or discipline. Options are available for in-person and/or online classes and the opportunity to customize by taking advantage of elective hours to complete a specialization.
The Professional MBA consists of 48 credit hours total, broken down into core, elective/specialization, and international business.
Core courses (30 hours)
Business fundamentals are important for future leaders. We've chosen areas that you need to be successful in managing teams, no matter the organization or industry.
Leadership, Data Analysis, Law and Ethics, Accounting, Marketing, Information Systems, Economics, Operations, Financial Management, and Strategic Management
Elective/specialization courses (15 hours)
Electives give you the freedom to explore your interests and dive deeper into topics and fields that are important to business today. You can also use these hours to build out one of 19 specialization to dive deeper into one area.
Predictive Analytics, Financial Modeling, Negotiation Skills, Project Management, Investments, and Digital Marketing
International business (3 hours)
To fulfill this requirement, you can either complete international class in CU Denver or participate in a course abroad. Our international courses focus on live case studies and international consulting projects to get you hands-on experience. Past trips have taken students to Belize, Saudi Arabia, China, and Denmark.
Specializations require 12 hours of related coursework and can be added or changed throughout your program.
