The janitorial company will perform the basic services listed here: Cleaning Frequencies. Additionally, trash and recycle cans must be placed outside individual offices to be emptied by janitorial staff. The janitorial company does not clean individual offices, lab benches. These are the responsibility of the person working in the office or at the lab bench. Other areas cleaned by others include the Gross Anatomy labs in Education 1 and the Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE).
During this time of reduced occupancy cleaning efforts have been focused on touch points, restrooms and other common areas in buildings with the highest concentration of staff. All buildings are visually checked at least once per day / night to ensure their upkeep.1
Cleaning service includes:
- Clean and sanitize exam room
counters and sinks
- Dust and mop floors and
remove all black marks
- Daily vacuum all carpeted
- Clean and sanitize all water
- Spot wash walls daily. Clean
- Clean windows or spot clean
- Dust all furniture and ledges
under 6 ½ feet
- Sanitize all touch points
(i.e. door handles and plates; sink handles and faucets).

personnel begin their shift performing routine services. Midway through, the
team shifts to a Touch Point Cleaning, and returns to routine cleaning upon
completion of the Touch Point Cleaning. This schedule is designed to disinfect
surfaces that have been used throughout the first part of the day, essentially
“resetting” the surfaces for the second part of the day. As building occupancy
rises touch point cleaning will be scheduled more frequently.3
During the early stages of the
pandemic, supplies in the sanitizing stations were being taken faster than we
could stock them. Currently we have on order improved stands with top locks to
secure the contents. We will continue to order more as they become available.
They will be placed in higher occupancy areas initially and in lesser occupancy
areas as the stands are received.
Cleaning kits will be available
in each building for those attending approved in-person meetings. (One
kit per room) Each building administrator or designated representative
will be responsible for creating a check out, check in process. The kits should
be used to clean common touch points within a meeting / conference / study
room. Instruction for their use are located in each kit. For example, the kits
are managed and distributed at the library main desk, Student Services will
have cleaning kits available for checkout in the Education buildings. Other
areas will be identified for managers and/or locations of the cleaning kits.
These cleaning kits are expected to be used in study areas, lactation rooms,
conference rooms, etc. See the attachment for contents of the Cleaning Kit.
Lactation rooms are scheduled
to be cleaned every night. Cleaning supplies are in each room to allow for
cleaning between uses during the day by the user of the space. The supplies
will be replenished as needed during the nightly cleaning.
It is a sanitizing application system which produces an electrostatic
charge to liquid disinfectants creating a light mist or fog which causes them
to cling to virtually any surface. See demonstration video. Common areas of each
building are sanitized based on the schedule located here: eMist schedule. Any
requested service outside the established schedule, i.e. additional days or
areas, will be charged to the requestors speedtype. Subject to staffing and
equipment availability.7 The eMist machine used the disinfectant CLEAN ON THE GO hdqC2
manufactured by Spartan chemical. The efficacy bulletin can be found

Restroom are cleaned each night and spot checked throughout the day.10
All cleaned areas are inspected by
members of the facilities staff as well as Kleen – tech supervisors to ensure
they meet level two APPA (The Association of Higher Education Facilities
Floors and base board molding shine
and/or are bright and clean. there is no build-up in corners or along walls,
but there can be up to two days’ worth of dust, dirt, stains, or streaks.
All vertical and horizontal surfaces
are clean, but marks, dust, smudges, and fingerprints are noticeable upon close

gleam and are odor-free. Supplies are adequate. Waste containers hold only
daily waste, are clean and odor-free.

is requested and outstanding emergency / safety related requests affecting the
public (spills, replenish restroom supplies etc.)
office cleaning falls outside the contractual Cleaning Frequencies. This service can be
requested here (link available on campus or via VPN). Please note There is normally a charge
for any misting / cleaning services outside the schedule/contractual agreements
not tied to a confirmed positive test. We are constantly reviewing the cost of
these services but as of now facilities services are charged $54/per hour per
cleaner (minimum of two cleaners for safety) with a 2-hour minimum. This
includes labor (salary, insurance, benefits, and support), PPE, and the cost of
the chemicals. Those schools wishing for additional services are placed on a
first come first served basis and must present a speedtype to schedule the

Elevators are scheduled to be cleaned and sanitized a minimum of once during the day and every night during the night cleaning process. This is a part of the Covid – 19 cleaning protocol19
Yes. Each member of the janitorial staff is required to submit the attestation each day and will receive a wristband signifying they have been cleared based on the current procedures and guidelines.
Etai’s employees are following
the same wellness check each CU employee is required to go through when they
enter the building. Etai’s employees are not wearing a wristband as they are
working with food and don’t want to introduce anything which may cause
additional hazards. Each employee has a date stamped on their forearm
indicating they passed both wellness screenings. Additionally, Etai’s mangers
post the answers to the screening questions and the recorded temperature of
each employee near the register.
