Bio: Assistant Professor Ely received his Ph.D. from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and holds an M.P.A. from the University of Arizona. His research interests include the financing of state and local public services, education policy, and public and not-for-profit financial management. His current research examines the financing of school capital spending and alternative teacher compensation systems. Previously, Dr. Ely provided research assistance at the Institute for Education and Social Policy in New York and served as a Lecturer on Public Administration at New York University. Prior to returning to school, he worked in management consulting and university administration. Dr. Ely’s research has been presented at the American Education Finance Association and National Tax Association conferences.
