What is your concentration?

Nonprofit Management with Certified Nonprofit Professionals

Why did you choose the SPA MPA program at CU Denver?

I was drawn to the application of studies - actually working in the Denver nonprofit community and having the opportunity to practice the skills I am learning in the classroom.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Colorado?

I am originally from Maryland, lived in Central Pennsylvania for a number of years, and have been in Denver for six years.

What is your concentration?

Nonprofit Management

Why did you choose the SPA MPA program at CU Denver?

My previous positions working as a college study abroad advisor and program director at an environmental nonprofit provided many leadership and management opportunities. However, my knowledge about how to lead and manage in organizations was mainly through a trial by fire process.

I chose the MPA program at CU Denver to deepen my understanding and practical skills in nonprofit organizational management, as well as learn about other sectors. Additionally, I am interested in how cross-sector organizational collaboration and networks can enhance program effectiveness and innovation in community settings.

SPA hosts one of the few higher education centers focused on the emerging field of network science. The MPA program has allowed me to expand my knowledge and professional connections, as well as weave my various experiences and interests into a more clear future career path.

Vice President

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Colorado?
I am originally from Wisconsin, just outside of Madison and am an alumni of UW Milwaukee. I have lived in Colorado for two years.

What is your concentration?
I am a Nonprofit Management concentration

Why did you choose the SPA MPA program at CU Denver?
I chose the MPA program because of its high ranking and its location.

I'm a lifelong Colorado resident originally from Fort Collins who's lived in Denver for over a decade

What is your concentration?
My concentration is nonprofit management

Why did you choose the SPA MPA program at CU Denver?
I chose the SPA MPA program at UCDenver because I sought a nonprofit management degree and liked that this one had the broader background of public administration -- and it was highly rated!
