CLoGRTand the Buechner Institute act as a point of contact for local governments and nonprofits to access the intellectual and technical resources at the SPA and throughout the CU System. SPA is in an excellent position to offer students--supervised by faculty—the opportunity to work with local governments and nonprofits. The Master in Public Administration (MPA), as well as the Masters in Criminal Justice, require that students perform a “capstone project,” which typically involves working with local government or nonprofit agencies. Over 100 such projects are completed every year. Many of these have provided considerable help to client organizations, by examining constituent satisfaction, performance measures, strategic planning capacity, finance options, and a variety of related topics
The School of Public Affairs invites employers to post internships, capstone projects and jobs directly to the SPA Job & Professional Experience Portal. The portal provides students and alumni with automated email alerts and a searchable database of jobs, internships and capstone project opportunities.
