The Buechner Institute for Governance, the school’s applied research arm, serves as a resource for policy development in Colorado and the nation. The Buechner Institute hosts a wide range of events
throughout the year that focus on timely issues and attract audiences comprised of politicians, community leaders, scholars, students and many others.
SPA has great momentum as we move into next year and the future looks bright. We will welcome two new tenure-track faculty members in fall 2016, and in the coming academic year we will recruit two additional tenure-track faculty members to join us in fall 2017.
We will also introduce the Bachelor of Arts in Public Service
degree program in fall 2016. This is an exciting new program that will prepare the next generation of leaders and managers to govern, serve and make decisions that promote the best interests of our communities. The BAPS degree will provide the skills and content knowledge to work in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and the emerging fourth sector that blends social and environmental concerns with business approaches.
Students continue to give high marks to the quality of instruction they receive at SPA and graduates go on to achieve great things in positions
at the local, state and national level. I hope you will take some time to learn more about the CU Denver School of Public Affairs, and we invite you to visit us anytime.
