Wade Gardner is the owner and art director of Artful Journey School of Fine and Visual Arts. He’s a filmmaker and writer/director/producer who is dedicated to giving back to the community. While attending film school at UCD, he collaborated on two short films that were accepted into numerous film festivals around the country. He is the co-founder of the First Look Student Film Festival, which is now part of the Starz Denver International Film Festival and will be a “festival within a festival” during this year’s SDIFF. First Look is an internationally recognized festival for undergraduate and graduate student filmmakers from around the world. He is also the co-director of Frame Damage, an animation festival in Denver that just launched this September. In addition to those ongoing projects, he’s wrapping a 20 episode animation series co-written/co-directed and co-produced with Josh Weinberg, a friend he met at film school (and who also works with him on the film festivals). Their animation series, “The Pitch,” was created exclusively for the Starz premium movie channel.
Gardner earned a BFA in Film, Theatre and Television from the University of Colorado Denver, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2005, with an emphasis in writing and directing.
