After 44 years of teaching terrific students from first year undergraduate to master thesis level at the University of Colorado both in Boulder and Denver, Professor Prosser retired in May 2008. He also had the extremely good fortune to have been a visiting and/or guest professor at Colorado College, U. of New Mexico, Carnegie Institute of Technology, U. of Arizona, Oxford Brooks, U.K. and the National University of Ireland Dublin. Over the years he had the honor of serving as the first Director of the Environmental Design undergraduate program (1969-1972), Director of the Master of Urban Design program (1973-1985), Assistant Dean (1973-1980), then Interim Dean (1981-1984) and Dean (1984). John writes, "I am very grateful for all the marvelous support I have received from my collegiate colleagues, staff , administration, the greater community and most of all from my 100’s of superb students both from here and abroad. For everyone I will simply quote a special Irish proverb: 'May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live' Cheers!"
