4th Floor Green Roof Plantings

Planting Plan

     Planting Plan

The 4th floor roof will be an intensive green roof system that provides both human and environmental benefits. This roof will be a loose fit, intensive system, with plant material ranging from sedum and native grasses to bushes and small trees. Species will be chosen for their green roof hardiness, their aesthetic appeal, functional relevance, and in an attempt to mimic local stream ecologies, in form. Opportunities for testing larger flora, microclimates, aspect, and ranges of media depths will be accommodated on the 4th floor intensive roof.

To helps us determine which plants to use and where to use them, it was necessary to build a matrix complete with seasons, height, spread, and depth of growing medium needed of each plant, as well as the amount of sun is needed for the various plants.
