College of Architecture and Planning

Learning Landscapes is a forward-thinking program at the University of Colorado Denver that connects the design and construction of urban public spaces with initiatives supporting health and well-being.

Since 1998, in partnership with Denver Public Schools, Learning Landscapes has transformed every elementary Denver Public School yard (all 96) into a vibrant and healthy play space tailored to the needs and desires of its neighbors and communities. Work now continues in other urban school systems across the nation.
