Chancellor’s Task Force on Sustainability

The Chancellor’s Task Force on Sustainability’s purpose is to recommend and facilitate sustainability initiatives, specifically in the areas of natural resource use and carbon emission reductions. The vision, mission and structure of the Task Force reflects the commitment of this group toward creating and maintaining a university that is a responsible steward of the finite natural resources we are dependent upon. You can review the Task Force’s Charge. Participation at Task Force meetings is welcome.

VISION: The Task Force envisions that the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus can create a culture of sustainability that incorporates academics, operations, stakeholder involvement, education and outreach. This culture will allow the University to honor its commitments to reducing resource use, lessen its contributions to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and showcase the economic benefits of such an effort.

MISSION: The mission of the Task Force is to serve the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus and its current and future generations by working toward more conservative and more efficient methods of resource use for our campuses and for our students, faculty and staff. These resources will include, but are not limited to: water, energy, transportation fuels, and raw materials used for construction and daily operations.
