Environmental Awareness

CU Denver utilizes energy efficient building operations, promote awareness of energy conservation practices among the university community, and is doing what we can to save the environment.

We appreciate your interest in energy management and environmental conservation. Please contact us at energy conservation if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Growing to a size of over 3 million square feet in upcoming months and expecting to expand further in years to come, the CU Denver campus is the size of a small city. Because of this large size there are many environmental impacts associated with energy, water, resources we consume, products purchased and discarded, transportation on campus and to and between campuses, and our management of the campus property itself. As a campus we are always trying to find ways to improve the environment. Whether that’s new construction projects that employ energy saving features, improving existing buildings to save energy, educating people on stormwater and the affects of pollution down the drains, the use of shuttle busses, and using janitorial products that are safe for human contact and the environment.
