Skywalker: Innovations in Mobility

Falls are a leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among US adults aged 65 and over, costing Medicare/Medicaid approximately $80 billion annually. This project aims to reduce walker abandonment by designing Skywalker™, an innovative walker that addresses key issues such as poor functionality, visual appearance, and social stigma. Based in human-centered design methodology and incorporating width adjustment and next-generation tracking capabilities, Skywalker™ will enhance usability, safety, and user adherence.
