Master of Architecture

Degree Earned: M.Arch The Master of Architecture program is fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The program is also STEM-designated. The M. Arch focuses on preparing students for entry into the architecture profession and licensure.

Dual Master of Architecture & Master of Urban and Regional Planning

The Dual Master of Architecture and Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree option offered through the CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning combines both disciplines to deepen your knowledge of the design of buildings and how they fit into the public realm.

Dual Master of Urban and Regional Planning & Master of Public Health

Degree Earned: MURP/MPH The MURP & MPH dual degree arises from the commonalities of perspective and purpose shared by its two constituents. A subset of public health addresses the health impacts caused by people’s environments—which is the domain of urban and regional planning. Planners recognize that policies, infrastructures, and social and economic conditions contribute to environmental conditions and thus can play a role in human health.

Graduate Certificate: Neural Engineering

Degree Earned: Graduate Certificate The certificate in neural engineering will provide students with focused knowledge in this growing sub-discipline of bioengineering, with a focus on use of engineering techniques to understand, repair, replace, or enhance neural systems. The certificate will provide students with an in depth introduction to cellular and systems neuroscience, neural interfaces, neuroimaging, and neurocomputation. Learning goals are designed to prepare students to work in industry or academia in this fast-paced and growing field. Instruction will be provided under experienced world-class faculty to gain expertise in current state-of-the-art technologies. The certificate has elective course options to allow the student to develop a deeper understanding of a particular focus area within neural engineering. The certificate is twelve credit hours and is open to all graduate students in Engineering or Neuroscience at University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus.

Graduate Certificate: Assistive Technology and Inclusive Engineering

Degree Earned: Graduate Certificate The Assistive Technology and Inclusive Engineering graduate certificate provides an in-depth introduction to the area of inclusive and assistive technologies for individuals aspiring to either work in the field of technology, disability, and/or aging into disability; and/or to sit for the national RESNA credentialing examination for one of two certifications to recognize assistive technology service providers who have met a national standard of job-based knowledge and experience.

Computer Engineering Minor

Degree Earned: N/A The minor in computer engineering provides an opportunity to gain a more in-depth knowledge of computing technology, programming digital hardware, interfacing digital hardware, internet of things, microcontrollers and microprocessors, sensor technology, as well as computer vision and image processing. The only pre-requisite to start this program is good academic standing and the desire to learn. Because the course structure involves a chain of pre-requisite courses, students are encouraged to start this minor in their freshman or sophomore year of study.

Electrical Engineering Minor

Degree Earned: N/A Electrical engineers use mathematics and physics tools and theory to develop systems ranging from smart electric grids, embedded systems and computer engineering products, integrated electronics, wired and wireless communications, networking sensing and imaging devices, and information technology. Students enrolled in the minor of electrical engineering will be given the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of electrical engineering as well as be introduced to some advanced applications. Students will be exposed to many real world applications and have hands-on engineering design experiences. Because the course structure involves a chain of pre-requisite courses, students are encouraged to start this minor in their sophomore year of study.

Master of Engineering + Master of Urban and Regional Planning

Degree Earned: MEng MURP Transportation is a key area of research and practice in both engineering and urban and regional planning. As communities become increasingly aware of the connection between the built environment and health, sustainability, and access to opportunity, the transportation-land use nexus has become more important—and more complex. Solving transportation and quality-of-life challenges requires multidisciplinary, innovative solutions. The interdisciplinary perspective of a dual degree enables graduates to bring the perspectives and tools from one profession into the other. The Master of Engineering + Master of Urban and Regional Planning dual master’s degree (MENG + MURP) prepares students for careers influencing design, public policy and investment in transportation systems such as roadways, public transit, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, parking and intermodal linkages. This program is offered in partnership with the CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning. The Master of Engineering degree is intended for students with a non-engineering undergraduate degree and is structured to give basic knowledge in engineering in an interdisciplinary manner. The Transportation Systems specialization emphasizes transportation engineering, planning, operations, and management.

Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity

Degree Earned: BS The cybersecurity bachelor of science degree prepares students for careers in online security with skills to defend computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, users and data from malicious attacks. Skills and experiences gained from the program will be immediately useful in today’s workforce where cybersecurity– cyber offense and defense– is a growing concern and necessity in both the public and private sector.

Master of Public Policy, Policy Entrepreneurship and Advocacy

Students gain understanding of public policy design and analysis techniques, and the role of politics and power in influencing the making and implementation of public policy.

Degree Earned: MPA The MPA program is for students interested in public service leadership positions and careers with public and nonprofit agencies and organizations. The program serves students new to public service, as well as those already in the field who are interested in furthering their careers.

Certificate, Prosocial Leader

New Degree Earned: Credit available Non-credit The Prosocial Leader certificate is designed for school leaders who are interested in leading schoolwide social and emotional learning (SEL) programs. This professional learning experience consists of three courses remotely facilitated in partnership with CREATE and the Prosocial Leader Lab.

Minor in Teacher Education
