Living with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders is an umbrella term used to describe the spectrum of conditions that could affect someone who has been exposed to alcohol during pregnancy.   This is not a diagnostic term but rather a descriptive term.  Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder includes FAS, ARBD, ARND, FAE, learning and behavioral problems as well as mental retardation. 

The Source is a document housed with the program Colorado Responds to Children with Special Needs within the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This document contains resources for families who are dealing with FASD as well as families looking for treatment resources for women in Colorado.

The Center for Disease Control and Environment  has many recommendations for the treatment of FASD. For details, go here.
