The Colorado AHEC program office, in association with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, is offering free health screenings for adults and children January 11–26, 2020 at the National Western Stock Show.
The health screening booth will be staffed by volunteers committed to improving access to healthcare and will include non-clinical staff, health professions students from various disciplines, and supervising licensed clinical providers. The National Western Stock Show attracts over 700,000 attendees and anticipates screening over 2,500 participants, with many more receiving valuable health education information.
COLORADO AHEC PROGRAM NEEDS YOU!
The Goals of this event are to provide:
1. A fun, interprofessional, hands-on learning opportunity for health professions students
2. Engagement with rural and underserved populations
3. An opportunity to provide health education and health information to rural and underserved populations who might not otherwise have access to care.
We could not offer this great service to the community without our extraordinary volunteers. Volunteers are needed from 8 am – 8 pm daily. Clinicians are needed to oversee students in this unique training opportunity and non-clinical staff is needed to recruit participants and manage the flow.
