Celebrating the Class of 2026
More than 2,200 graduates crossed the stage at CU Denver’s spring commencement, celebrating years of perseverance, growth, and achievement alongside family and friends. From future engineers and architects to educators and business leaders, the Class of 2026 reflects the determination and resilience that define the Lynx community. Relive the excitement through photos and a special commencement recap video.
From designing human-centered spaces to conducting biomedical research and landing a “Big Four” internship, CU Denver’s newest graduates are already shaping what comes next. Meet Layla Blair '26, Angel Lupian Alvarez '26, and Dania Morelli '23, MArch '26—three members of the Class of 2026 whose stories reflect the ambition, resilience, and community that define the Lynx experience.
Denver’s biggest May snowstorm in more than two decades transformed campus into a late-spring winter scene on May 6. Pictured here: the snow-covered bronze lynx statue outside City Heights Residence Hall, alongside murals created by artist Thomas "Detour" Evans '08, MBA '12, reminding us that Colorado weather always keeps Lynx on their toes.
CU Denver Club Sports Are on the Rise
What started with just a handful of students playing basketball has grown into one of CU Denver’s most energized student communities. The men’s club basketball team now competes against universities across Colorado and beyond, drawing packed crowds, traveling to national tournaments, and building school spirit along the way. The program’s momentum also reflects the growing impact of Lynx alumni, including assistant coach Sean Burns ’24, who now helps lead the team he once supported as a student.
Welcome incoming students to CU Denver! Help future Lynx feel at home by sending a personal note or video welcoming them to the university community. We provide the supplies, you provide the encouragement. Sign up for Milo Mail by June 30.

Graduation ceremonies only last a day, but the memories last much longer. This spring, members of the Class of 2026 stopped by CU at Picture Day to capture professional portraits celebrating their achievement, personality, and next chapter. The photos were taken by CU Denver alumna Shameka McBoat ’06, owner of McBoat Photography.
