An event designed for new faculty members to meet others, hear from Chancellor Michelle Marks, and learn key information about CU Denver.
Hosted by the CFDA, New Faculty Orientation is packed with critical information, resources, and support for new faculty at the University of Colorado Denver.
The two-day event offers tips on navigating the University system, advice on tapping resources to support teaching and research, key introductions to University contacts and, information on tenure, promotion, and Instructional, Research, and Clinical Faculty (IRC) support.
New Faculty Orientation will be held on Monday, August 16th, 2021 starting at 8:00 am, with check-in beginning at 7:30 am. We have a student panel, which is one of our all-time favorite sessions, along with breakout sessions, and panel discussions about teaching, service, first year at CU Denver, and life as a new faculty member.
The second day of New Faculty Orientation will be online on Tuesday, August 17th at 9:00 am. This is a required session for all new employees and staff. The session is held virtually with our friends from Human Resources and Employee Services.
On Tuesday, August 17th at 1:00 pm the Office of Digital Education will help you navigate our online portal in a Canvas Basics session. Canvas is the university’s Learning Management System (LMS). Instructors can post content, assessments, activities, and grades in Canvas while communicating with their students. Canvas Basics is a great session to attend if you're new to Canvas or if you just need a refresher. Join virtually by registering here.
