About our Students

The Department is proud of the calibre of its students, many of whom receive financial support as Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Research Assistants (RAs).  TAs and RAs work part-time to earn monthly stipends.  RAs also receive tuition support.

Our student directory contains a listing of names and email addresses for enrolled students.  Three students each year volunteer to serve as student representatives.  They assist in the communication between students and faculty, and are available to answer questions from both current and prospective students.  Please feel free to contact the student representatives to inquire about the Department and programs.  The current student representatives are:

The Department honors outstanding students in its MS and PhD programs at the end of each academic year.  In addition to certificates for their portfolios, winners receive cash awards of $500 each.  Please view our Biostatistics Student Awards for details and names of past awardees.

To see the wide range of projects undertaken by our students, you can review our Previous Thesis Titles.

Associations and Working Groups

  • STATCOM is a community outreach program provided to the greater Aurora area by graduate students in the Department of Biostatistics and Informatics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The program offers the expertise of biostatistics graduate students, free of charge, to non-profit and community organizations in the areas of study design, data organization, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Many of our students are also actively involved in the Biostatistics Student Association (BSA) of the American Statistical Association (ASA).  For information, please visit the BSA/ASA link.
  • Participation in department Seminars and Working Groups is strongly encouraged.  Click on these links or tabs above to see the broad scope of the topics, and for current students, the schedules for these activities.
