Biomedical Sciences Training Program

Welcome to the BSP Program Home Page

Welcome to the Biomedical Sciences Program (BSP) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. BSP is an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental umbrella program designed to provide incoming students with the greatest amount of flexibility in choosing a course of study. As members of the program you will have access to over 160 highly accomplished training faculty in eleven different PhD graduate programs. Our rigorous curriculum provides BSP students with opportunities for advanced studies in the biomedical sciences by participating in a comprehensive graduate Core Course, and selected electives in a discipline of their interest. BSP students also conduct three laboratory research rotations over the course of the first year. Students may rotate with any three members of the faculty that participate in the Biomedical Sciences Program. BSP is continually adding new training faculty, providing students with an outstanding group of scientists from whom to select as thesis advisors and mentors. Our goal is to provide students a world-class graduate training experience in an interactive and interdisciplinary environment that allows for an individualized learning experience. Our students also are able to participate in the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute or CCTSI, which provides additional training in translational medical sciences.

The Biomedical Sciences Program is committed to diversity and equality in the recruitment and retention of students to the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus. We actively seek persons from underrepresented populations, which include, but are not limited to, underrepresented ethnic minorities, disabled persons, and those students who are disadvantaged, from rural areas, and/or first-time-in-family college attendees. Resources for these students are available through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and UCD Disability Resources and Services.
